Mid - Way Reflection

TUESDAY 7TH MAY 2018. TUTORIAL 

After having a few changes to my original plan I  have taken the path to change my straight narrative into something more experimental. Initially having a cast ready to shoot but then being delayed I decided to create my piece on girlhood more experimental and abstract. I want to be able to work more freely and i have realised following a conventional narrative pieces disables me to do so. I think i have become more comfortable when incorporating my different strengths from art, visual communications and photo media backgrounds in my work. Therefore, i will be following/ integrating my influences from various formats. 

However, i don't want the script I have written gong to waste so i will be integrating this into my piece by approaching it in a non conventional way.  The script can be read out throughout the piece accompanying the visuals, which can simultaneously be juxtaposing and harmonious. I have taken this inspiration by analysing the documentary  Sans Soleil. 

On this day i had a one to one tutorial session with my tutor where we discussed the progression of my piece, while discussing the direction of my project the idea of incorporating audio came to me. The incorporation of an interview based audio format intrigued me as i can work more abstractly with it. My script was also analysed and criticised closely i  think reviewing it over allowed me to realised that the direction i was going in lacked clarity. This accompanied with the issues with getting the cast together worked to my advantage, i believe all of this acted as a sign for me to move forward and take a different action.
