Pre- Production & Conversation

i initially put up this poster as i wanted to find a cast for the film. the poster included actress wanted for short film and a brief description of the project . it was the starting point of the project so i was quite unsure of where the project will go so the description read : "actress wanted for short film focusing on girlhood and growing up, must be comfortable reading a script and confident in front of the camera " i also included a preferred age which was 17 - 19 and that i was in pre production. i included my contact information i.e. my  email. i printed out 10 posters and placed across the college, i placed it in different parts and equally so that i would get a range of responses and students that came from different courses.

this was the first and only response i got from putting up my posters, i recorded the conversations we had so that i could keep a track of our conversations as well as to reflect back on it for the future. however, due to some circumstances i was unable to included the actress into the piece. i think this made me keeping track of our conversations useful as i was later able to reflect back on it.

at this point i still wanted to explore my film through a cast, therefore i contacted lisa frost who is in charge of the performing arts within weston college. i think this plan was more solid than my original one as i would have a collective of people that have a background in acting. whom have past experiences being in front of the camera as well. 








lisa gave me the contact information of john and kyle, these were the people in charge of letting the students know about acting opportunities. i contacted both of them asking if there were any students interested from the degree course. after getting in contact with both john and kyle, kyle reached back with saying that he would post this on their social media site where the students will be able to accesses this information.
