How I Interpreted Representing Reality.
Within my final outcome I came to a conclusion of conducting a series of interviews within students around college when following my theme of "How does it feel like to be a young person in 2018". Initially collecting portraits of my subjects and including a written response, my idea evolved into a video essay exploring the dynamics of being a young person in 2018. Creating a dialogue between young people allowed me to explore the representation of the youth in media and the culture surrounding it. The 7 part series included subjects which ranged in age, gender, ethnicity and social class, this was important as i wanted a diverse range of subjects in my film which offered a variety of responses and multilayered conversations. Interviewing each person allowed me to construct my questions naturally and spontaneously and i only planned the first question. I was able to use answers from previous interviews to instigate questions for the rest of them to see if there were any intersections between the responses.
Using Adobe Animate.

My previous experience using Animate assisted me when creating the animations for this project. as seen to the left i used the application to create a series of illustrations which mimics of sound waves. This resembles ones used in radio podcasts and i wanted it to create an ambience of a podcast. After exporting the animation which was created through multiple layering and framing the clip can be seen used as an overlay throughout the final piece. Using Premier pro i was able to edit this the animation to co-ordinate with the tempo and pacing of the audio. For instance when ever there was a pause or lack of speaking the animation would stop and then continue according to the audio. The use of this allowed me to connect the viewer with the recordings as they can be easily distracted by the visuals thus the animation brings the viewer back to the importance of the audio format.
